Letter from the Administrator
Julie H. Richard, Administrator explains Mount St. Rita Health Centre’s financial situation in light of the recent resolution to the Rhode Island state budget, the nursing home reimbursement plan and the cuts that took effect in Rhode Island on July 1, 2007.

Meet Jill Fallon
We welcome Jill Fallon, who has joined Mount St. Rita Health Centre as Development Director. A senior communications professional, Jill has more than 20 years of global experience and a proven track record of successfully integrating the role of strategic communications with the achievement of an organization’s business objectives.

After growing up in Connecticut , Jill attended Sweet Briar College in Virginia where she graduated with B.A. in Economics and Business Management. She then received her MBA, with a concentration in Marketing, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Jill now lives just over the Rhode Island border in Wrentham, Massachusetts with her husband and two sons.

The Frances Warde Room
Mount St. Rita Health Centre recently dedicated the North Parlor to Frances Warde with the unveiling of an original acrylic painting of Frances Warde by artist Therese Mary Delisle, RSM.

Sister Therese Mary, a captivating storyteller, elaborated on Frances Warde’s many experiences which she portrayed in the painting, including her perilous trans-Atlantic journey from Ireland to America. The portrait is a reminder of the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy and the mission and spirit embraced by all at Mount St. Rita Health Centre. See full story...

All the Difference
An unusual event marked staff appreciation day this May. Laura Lafreniere and her mother Diane Larivee were both recognized for twenty years of dedicated service. Learn more about them in the "Centered" below.

Gardening With Grace
Mount St. Rita Health Centre’s neighbors at the New Dawn Earth Center, on route 121, Cumberland, are growing an organic vegetable garden in the field along Alexis Donnelly Way, located near the South end of the Mount St. Rita Health Centre Nurse’s parking area.

With Mount St. Rita Health Centre so close, coordinator of the project, S. Suzanne Lachapelle, RSM’s vision was to involve some of the residents in this hands-on opportunity. Collaborating with Celeste Duclos, Activity Director, the project soon took root.

Meet Dr. Fran Aragao, Board of Trustees
Dr. Fran Aragao has been a member of the Mount St. Rita’s Health Centre’s Board of Trustees since 2001. One of the original members of the Board, she hosted the annual “Cup of Comfort” dinner for Mount St. Rita’s Health Centre at Kirkbrae Country Club in 2005. Read more about her....
